Araucaria
Has anyone any experience of having a glass balustrade installed round a terrace? Price, installation (DIY?), durability/solidity etc?We have a new terrace at the end of the barn and we'd prefer not to spoil the view.
Théière
I have installed around a balcony in the UK, 10mm toughened glass panels, heavily chromed bracket (look on line). France seems expensive for glass compared to my supplier in the UK.
canard
Just had a brief look at this on line last night. Frameless system sounds the best. They have to be cemented into a channel 100mm deep, cost was around £300 per metre for 10mm toughened safety glass.
Araucaria
Thanks for the answers. Frameless isn't really an option - I should have said it's an oak balcony on big oak beams, so cementing in a frameless version would be a bit tricky. Stupid of me to forget something important like that. We've had a quote for an aluminium one but I always feel alu is a bit lightweight for something that needs to feel solid (there's a three and a half meter drop on the other side).
