oldgit72
Can anyone give me some advice on how best to use expanding foam. I used some on sealing in some velux windows recently and finished up using 4 cans on 3 windows. Basically, the stuff worked for about 5 minutes and then gummed up in the plastic tube provided rendering it useless. I kept shaking the can 'tet a bas' as instructed on the side but made no difference. Has anyone mastered the art of using this stuff?
Théière
How best, buy a proper gun.If not buy a different manufactures product as the valves quickly get gummed up, try washing the top of the valve tube etc in acetone, a couple of euros from a brico if you can't get the proper cleaner. Chancer
Ditto, buy a pro gun.If you remember to screw the valve shut after use it will be fresh as a daisy after several months.I was going to say that it is much more controllable but there is no control with the DIY cans that fatigue the index finger, a pro gun can extrude a 2mm dia bead should you wish up to a veritable torrent.I am known as Le Roi de la mousse in these parts [:D]
