Chancer
I am currently constructing probably the worlds smallest bathrooms apart from perhaps boats and caravans. There is neither the wall space or a zone 3 area to fit a heater so I would like to use an underfloor heating mat, the area is so small , less than 1m2 that I will probably have to use the cable rather than a pre-formed mat.I really would prefer to have a tiled floor above it but my existing floor is a bit springy and I need to keep the height of the ensemble to the minimum. The flooring is wormy 19mm planchers over 175 by 63 bastaings at 40cm crs, these are overspanned at 5 metres and one of the batrooms is at mid span hence the bounce.I think that I will need to screw down a ply board and there will also need to be a layer of insulation before the tile cement and heating cable, I dont know in what order to do this and as I said I really need to keep the thickness to a minimum.Any suggestions gratefully received. Théière
There was a thread a few weeks ago about a metal corrugated product that a Dutch lady wanted to use. It may suit what you are doing and allow you to get rid of the old wormy boards which is deffo what I would do.
Chancer
I am not trying to create a structural slab over a vide sanitaire!Besides I think that it might be a bit thick.
