Alan Zoff
OK. So I have opened a photobucket account, resized and downloaded photo, copied and pasted the IMG address - but all that shows if I try to create a post is the address - no picture. Can some kind soul attempt to put me straight, please. While you are dealing with this "computer-illiterate", could you also tell me how to make these pages narrower as I can't see the whole page (on 19" screen, if that makes any odds) without scrolling from side to side. (Actually, it may be the way some of the posts have been entered as some pages fit and some don't.)Many thanks.
Pads
Have you made sure your pasted IMG is not touching the last word you wrote ? I always try to give it a line on its own .When you copy , have you caught all of it and not left a letter out ? Thats all I can think of [:)]
Clair
You need the square brackets [] before and after the IMG code
Cat
Or, what I do, after re-sizing the photo, is to right-click on the photo itself, select copy, then (in the forum post I'm making) right-click again, and select paste... The reason it is sometimes necessary to scroll across to see the full width of some pages, is because some photos haven't been resized, and are too wide. Alan Zoff
Well that seems to work Cat, even if the pics are a bit on the small size. Perhaps I overdid the resizing.I will have another play when the kids are around to show me more tips. Seemed a good idea chucking them out onto the streets to fend for themselves so that I might then get a chance to use the PC myself. Trouble is, now they don't live here, I can't use it anyway without their help!
Mme poivre
Not so rustic as some but was perfectly habitable when we brought it and our own little castle, although needs lots spent on it, in the middle of a small village but still quite isolated and only two houses with premenant habitants that are the best.I hope this has worked and thanks to those who have offered help with putting in pictures. Jonzjob
All you need to do in photobuquet to do a copy is to left click on the bottom line, IMG Code, and a little yellow box will appear saying 'copied'. Then go to the forum page, press the return key to ptu the cursor on a new line, right click and select paste. The complete line is copied automatically. Gud-ere-init...Well a nice friendly sign on the gate shows that we want to intergrate (not a smelling mastike)
Cat
Alan, to resize photos in Photobucket to use on this forum, you need to double-click on the photo in the Photobucket album, and then when it opens in a new page, select the resize option, and then "message board (640x480).Jonzjob, snap, we've just put in one of those roller shutters for our pool [:)]
powerdesal
JJ,Shouldn't the sign be in French?????????[:P]
Alan Zoff
So do you reckon there are the remains of several non-English-speaking Frenchmen hidden under that pool cover....?
Jonzjob
If it were in French it wouldn't 1/2 as much fun....[6] Not alowed to say Alan, watch the papers??In actual fact the sign is in a momastry not far from here. Must be a Benadictine one and a leftover from the inquisition?? Arnaud Armory peut etra?
Jonzjob
Hi cat, they are great and very simple aren't they!! Ours is operated with my 24 volt drill. Having that option knocked 1000€ off the bill... I'll stand and wind it on and off quite a few times for that!

Geordie girl
Lovely looking house Alan, does it need much work?
Alan Zoff
Thanks, Geordie Girl. Not a great deal, really. Few timbers in roof to be replaced (now that I've checked the progress of the capricorne beetles who were doing their best to eat everything). Gradually bringing the interior up to scratch, but it's mainly redecoration now. As you can see, the outside needs a coat of paint but, as mentioned on a separate post, I am about to embark on insulating the exterior, which will mean rerendering the whole of the outside and I will paint it all then. But getting there.
Geordie girl
It'll be smashing. We've had whole place to do. Seems neverending but it'll be fab when finished. (If we ever get there.)[:D]
