TonyBrown
HelloWe have a room withonly one power socket that I intend to use as an office so will need to addmore. The walls are solid as is the tiled floor, the room above isa bathroom with a tiled floor. I wouldlike to chase out the wall, not surface mount, and add a complete new circuit from the distributionbox. The distribution box is in the nextroom so it will be easy to get the power in, but I have read that to run the gainefrom socket to socket you are only allowed to travel 500 mm horizontally, if this is the casehow do I joint the sockets together without surface mounting? Any ideas / advice would be very much appreciated Thanks Tony
Anton Redman
Welcome to the forum. I cannot find any references to a maximum of 1/2 a metre for horizontal runs of cable. Source 'L installation electrique' Gallauzziaux and Fedullo NFC 15-100. Do you have a source for the figure ?
TonyBrown
Hi AntonI have read many posts / web searches and remember thinking that 500mm was not far and could not think of the reasoning behind it. I cann't remember where it was posted
