bigears
hicould anyone in the know tell me how to wire in a couple of fluorescentlights which are to be placed above mirrors above our bathroom sinks. They also have a socket for a shaver/toothbrush/hairdryer incorporatedin them. Do they go on their own circuit/fuse or can they go into asocket circuit or a lighting circuit? I cannot see it in my frenchelectricity book. Théière
Shaver/toothbrush is via an isolating transformer for safety so it can go on the wiring for lighting, however as soon as you mentioned hair dryer (2000) watts it would have to go on a power circuit. Northender
I would say an hairdryer is a bit of a no-no in bathrooms , as lethal as a portable 2kW heater.Stick to the low voltage shaver/toothbrush
Théière
Providing it's in the correct volume (area) and the rating and classe is correct then under the regs it's ok.[6]
bigears
hiok just the wifes toothbrush, I've been using the socket in the light to power a 300w halogen spot light. This was the only socket functioning at the time upstairs as I did the elctrics. What I think I will do is to put both the lamps on a single circuit, I've a number of spare fuses in the box. Thanks for your help.
Dave&Olive
hi ok You can just run a small fly lead like this ,you can then use the spare sockets to run the tooth brush / hair dryer on Dave

Jonzjob
For a start, I would like to know how someone got a pikky of my baffroom? Secondly I think that this could catch on as a brand new form of pool heating. Now there would be no need for expensive use of electricity to heat the water, you just heat the people
