TonyBrown
HiWe have an old house in the Tarn, many of the rooms have 25mm thick terracotta tiles laid on a soft mortar base ontop of the wooden floors. A lot of thefloors are un even or have loose tiles. Can any one please advise what the correct material is forre laying these, they do not appear to be “stuck” down. If one is removed there is little or nomortar on the back. I realise that as thewooden floor flexes the base can not be rigid but it needs to be firm enough tosupport the tile when weight is applied. Are the tiles laid on to a wet mortar ? Any tips / advice gratefully received.
