Limewash instead of paint?

Does anyone have any experience or advice on using limewash called, "Badigeon de chaux arienne" on my devis?

I have a few concerns, one being that it may need to be done again within five years and two that it may not be appropriate for new plasterboard. It appears that the French sites from searching google.fr say it is good for plasterboard as well as cement but the UK sites say it isn't. Perhaps the UK version is different from the French version. [8-)] Thank you in advance.
