ericd
Hi all, the house we have just bought is old (as in very old) but in good health. The front door is heavy but shows loads of gaps around its perimeter letting fresh air in. I remember in my youth ......a kind of felt seal served on a roll that had to be nailed in place (felt about 20mm wide). Dkon't seem to be able to find any on the web, anyone can help as i don't trust the new self-adhesive types... MAny thanks.
Théière
I don't remember a felt strip but I do remember a copper strip about 20mm wide that was nailed on.
ericd
Thanks theiere but my memories of the felt strip are from France (am a French expat in the UK), yours are most probably from England and the copper strip you mention is also no longer available in the shops (Ebay sells it) i believe it is called "Atomic strip" in England. DO you think the copper strip serves the same purpose??It would be to nail on the door and as it shuts against the wall (i say the wall), the seal gets squizzed to close the uneven gap. If you think that is it, i can get it next week on Ebay. Thanks for your timely reply.
Théière
It used to ericd, although I believe that we nailed it to the frame, zees engliish [:D]It is quite springy and far outlasts foam (mousse?)
