oldgit72
Just a simple question (I hope). When a pipe fitting is referred to as 16mm 20x27, what does the 20x27 refer to? I ask because fitting for 16mm pipe seem to be available in 15x21 and 20x27 and I need to know the difference. Thanks

Chancer
As PP has posted its the French way of expressing a British Standard Pipe Thread without admitting it [;-)]The two figures correspond to the inside and outside diamaters in mm's of a rubber or fibre sealing washer that would be used between a parrallel threaded B.S.P. joint. As you have found out there are more than one size of fitting for the multitude of French pipe sizes, all no doubt intended to make French plumbing seem like a black art to the great unwashed.
