Dave&Olive
hi ok A few people have PM `d me about it so thought I would reply on the forum .. You will need to source some bees wax from your local bee keeper ask for the unrefined or brute it`s a lot less expensive about €12 a kilo that's a lot of polish next you need pure turpentine not the turps subs Haute Gamme (sp) springs to mind and some hardener... sicatiff small glass bottle you only need max two capfuls . Mix is dependant on the quality of the wax mix say 250g with 1/4 ltr of the turps in a bane-marie , when it has dissolved let it cool an test the consistency ..too hard add more turps too runny add more wax .you can add the hardener when you have this right plus any oils if you want . I like to put the wax on when it`s like " runny ear wax " let it set for an hour and buff off with a dome brush in the drill hope this makes sense Dave
WJT
Hi Dave&Olive very interesting, thank you for sharing. This is very helpful to me because I want to wax my floors soon. Can you or anyone else say where to get sicatiff and pure turps in France?
Araucaria
Mr Bric sell both. Look for "Terebinthine pure gemme" as opposed to "essence de terebinthine", and the siccatif is a little bottle of blue liquid somewhere on the shelf nearby! It is just called "siccatif".
