Braco
For our first job this year I would like to replace our current fuse box for a modern trip type box. Our current box is about 40 years old (three phase) and uses internal fuses. Before asking for quotes I will be grateful for any information.Thank you. PaulT
When I replaced ours I used Legrand as whilst far more expensive seemed much higher quality. Our fuseboard have just a few trips and a whole mass of cables. As the property required rewiring I carried this out to French norms and actually used 2 x 2 row fuseboards (so that there were sufficient trips for the circuits) and also mounted it off of the wall to make it far easier to feed cables down and connect in to the boards. You could just replace like for like but allow for expansion / rewiring to the norms.Paul

pachapapa
If I were you I would ascertain whether it would be better to change to single phase. Frankly unless one is committed to three phase equipment then it rarely makes sense.
Nick Trollope
If the board is 40 years old, I would ascertain whether the whole house needs rewiring...
Braco
ThanksThe report that we had at the time of purchase identified only minor switch issues.
