jessie
Hi, I have a query regarding staircases that I can't seem to find an answer to, so was hoping someone here may know! I have seen 2 different measurements for the height of the staircase when built up = 'hauter sans socle 2.75m' and 'hauter avec socle 2.95m' I asked the chaps in the shops but they didn't seem to know what it meant either (ie is the overall height 2.95m). If anyone knows what it means, it would be much appreciated, many thanks in advanceconfused!!
cooperlola
Well a "socle" is a plinth. afaik. Does that help?
cooperlola
I think this gives the clue:http://www.vial-menuiseries.com/socle-recoupable-bois-exotique-p5983.htmlThe plinth seems to just give you some extra height - ie it gives you two height options with one staircase, depending upon whether it has/you use the plinth or not. But hopefully a staircase expert will know for sure and will post soon.[:)]
Dave&Olive
hi ok Think you will find it`s floor to ceiling height 2.95m .. and the height of the stairs is 2.75 m ,this will give you the last riser to suit the floor height Dave
