crossy67
We have a small leak on a pipe in our new home. It's easy to get to and seems to be coming from a compression fitting of some sort. I haven't dismantled the joint, just tried tightening it up but it's still leaking. I measured it with my digital callipers the other day and it's OD is 18.3mm, I want to get another coupling in just incase. Any one know if this is a normal size or have I found an oddity? Thanks. Anton Redman II
If the pipe is copper then I have only ever found round 12,14,16,18 etc sizes plus 1/2 inches. If joint is on plastic then have no idea but will check this morning
Quillan
The diameter of the pipe is measured on the inside so that sounds about right if its copper.
AnOther
I have a small amount of 18mm and just checked it's O/D which is 18.7mm.
crossy67
That's great, thanks. It's copper so probably 18mm, a soldered straight coupling is going on my shopping list.
