CeeJay
In the bathroom I have one of those large pillar taps supplying a circular washbasin that sits on top of a unit. The tap has a sort of lever on top for pushing in a circular motion depending if you want hot or cold or slow or fast. However I have noticed that the lever is quite hard to push around, is it therefore possible to strip it down and grease with something, maybe silicon grease, or perhaps there is some sort of pressure screw? Jay
You can buy a new insert. They are mostly plastic, I take mine out and clean them - soak in white vinegar,
powerdesal
We too have the tall pillar taps 'Grohe' from Germany via screwfix, I'm got the impression that the inserts are ceramic but I will try to find the instructions which include an 'exploded' view, if I can I will come back and I can scan and send by e mail. CeeJay
Thanks chaps (?) I would be obliged for any information, at the moment I can't even see how to get inside these things!!
powerdesal
Sorry, bad info from me. The tall non swivel pillar taps we have are not Grohe, but 'swirl'. I have no info about how to get into them. I imagine the top handle housing possibly levers off to expose the cartridge access but I have not tried it and am not going to unless and until I need to.
