crossy67
I am having trouble finding a supplier for replacement boards for our down stairs, some have been eaten but the worms. I have taken a sample to a builders yard who kept it for two weeks and came up blank. So I went to a couple of local (local, ha, 100km and a morning driving round to see two suppliers) wood flooring specialists, again no joy. I have been told it's an exotic redwood, the flooring places only seem to stock oak or pine. Another problem we are having is the size, it's a bit odd being 100mm wide by 27mm deep, all the wood now seems to be 23mm but we could do something about the dimensions if needed.Any one know of any specialists out there? I have sent a sample to a specialist in the UK but logistically I would rather find one in France if possible.Thanks.Ian
Alex H
How about trying a reclamation place, or do you need new boards?
crossy67
They will be used to replace some boards in the lounge and dining rooms so they must be a good match. Problem is they are an unusual wood, I have been to a few suppliers who didn't even think, just said no. I would think they will be rare in reclamation yards. Do you know of any in 24 or 16 areas or possibly even 33 or 17, we are close to all?Ta.
Alex H
There is this place http://www.reclamation-yard.com/ in Confolens, but it does tend to be expensive. Still, if he has what you need........
just john
If you haven't been to the yard, it is worth the trip just to wander through, even if you don't find matching boards you'll very likely find something you like. Failing that how about making up one floor from the boards you have, and putting new boards stained to match in the other room? Failing try searching www.boisexotique.com and going further afield
