pachapapa
rejointoyerthe mortar will depend on whether you are repointing brick or stonehttp://www.maison.com/brico-travaux/revetements/rejointoyer-mur-4725/http://www.construire-ensemble.com/2009/01/rejointoyer-un-mur-en-brique/
Juleyandpaul
Wow thanks pachapapa, very quick. It is a stone wall and ideally we want the morat to have a bit of a yellow tinge to it.I have copied down the term to repoint a stone wall and made a note of Mortier de chaux from the link you gave me so thats just the job. Thanks very much,Juley
pachapapa
It is hard to tint mortars with yellow ochre or synthetic pigments. It needs almost clinical dosing of all constituents. There are pre tinted bagged mortars available at the brico yards.PPP Tip: Start on a bit of wall that is somewhat concealed, not the facade by the front door. You'll soon move up your learning curve to perfection. The hardest part of the job is preparing the wall; particularly if some pra* has used a cement mortar.
