bwfc1965
Can anyone point me in the direction of a good timber merchant near to Merdrignac in Brittany near to 22/56 border about 15km east of Loudeac. I am looking for some skirting board and also some hardwood to make a window seat/ window etc.CheersSteve
Anton Redman
Despite renovating one house in 87 and living in 33 for five years I have never found a timber yard which had the facilities to mill skirting. You can buy mean plynths which look fine in modern boxes but not real skirting. For the mid 19th century town house I recently finished. I cheated and used two suitable pieces of floor board with a molding to replace three meters which was missing. Otherwise it is a bench router and suitable fraises. Val_2
Don't know if you have a branch down there, but Reseau Pro formerly Pinault materiaux are mostly specialising in timber these days.We buy all our trees there planked up but remember inFrance the artisan does the planing, the timber is not planed for sale and there may be a minimum quantity for the hardwood that you must buy.
