Finding a Room to Rent

Hi, I'm 22 years old and have always dreamed of going to France - obviously I'm still young to make the big move, but I really, really want to go over, do some volunteer work, just earn a bit of money and begin to experience life there. I would really like to go to/near Toulon.

I am basically thinking that finding just a room would be the best way to make my way over initially, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any ways to find one?

I know there can be host families - which I have to be honest, makes me a little nervous.

Even if it was a tiny room that I rented for the night that I could feel safe and comfortable - even if it was a little job that could offer me a room to stay in.

I don't care how small the room is, I don't even care if it's a bit shabby, just as long as I had my own space.

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!!

You could try Airbnb.com. They have rooms for rent all over the world and lots are very inexpensive.
