chirpy Posted February 11, 2012 Share Posted February 11, 2012 As many may know it will be mandatory to fix a smoke/fire alarm in all houses very shortly.I have had one I bought in uk manynyears ago but decided to buy a new one in FranceThis standard photoelectric model with 9vbattery has been fitted ,but it keeps beeping every 30-40 seconds!i have checked battery is new and ok but find this beep annoying as I believe it means a new battery is required!!!any advice welcome. pachapapa Posted February 12, 2012 Share Posted February 12, 2012 Why not try it in the warm the operational bit with the battery is detachable...cant see 10°C affecting it.....take it back and get another one.Note an obligation till march 2015...I got 3 of them only problem the batteries or the one in the kitchen that objectsv to "fry-ups".
