Théière
The draft legislation for the EU is ready, final document to be presented soon. Low voltage down light lamps (MR16) are to be phased out from 2013 beginning with the low performance ones and running through to 2016 by which time all of them will probably have gone.I don't have any in my house as I have changed to LED downlights, mainly 4w and 5w which put out as much light if not more than the old 20w halogens. Jonzjob
It will be interesting to see if the price comes down on LEDs? The one that I bought was the cost of a couple of halogen and a couple of bottles of reasonable wine thrown in together[:-))]
Théière
I fear lamps manufactueres will charge a lot as LED's last so long they won't be selling anywhere as many once supplied. I have been ordering direct from Shenzeng. Some I buy are not so good some are excellent all a fraction of the price of UK companies.
