Frank
Hi, sorry if this has been asked before, but couldn't find on search. Does anyone know if you need special permision or if there are restrictions to re tiling a large roof on a property at the side of a main road please?? Many thanks in advanceJimmy
dave21478
Check with the mayors. Many communes have restrictions on type and or colour of tiles.....ours doesnt, but a few kms down the road the next commune have much stricter controls on what tiles can be used. dave21478
Or do you mean restrictions safety-wise during the work? Again, check with the mayor to see whats required.
Val_2
Normally no permission is required if the re-tiling is exactly like for like, a different colour tile would need permission though and as I tell people all the time NEVER take a verbal agreement, always get it in writing in case of any future legal actions. If you are working on a busy road or even a road where traffic passes regularly you MUST make it safe via working with scaffolding, have warning panels onthe road and warn pedestrians of any overhead hazzards such as falling or thrown slates. To work on the roadway usually requires written permission by the maire of the commune and you usually have a time limit in which to carry out and complete the works especially on a busy road. If you have a benne parked to take away the rubbish, again permission is required, lights for night are required and warning panels posted either side of the chantier.
