Simon
What are the rules regarding Gas Barbecues in the South of France - are you allowed to have one in the summer? We've got a new house in the Var and would like to know if gas barbecues are allowed. Many houses appear to have "summer kitchens" with gas hobs and looking through holiday rentals on the web many places advertise BBQs.Any advise appreciated....Tks
Gardian
It so much depends on your local area. If there's hardly a tree or a bit of dry scrub in sight, then there's hardly likely to be a problem, perhaps not even with charcoal. As with most things, it's a case of ask the Mairie. Dick Smith
You should move to Normandy. You couldn't set fire to it with a flamethrower and napalm. Even in August.

raindog
I fetch a huge trailor full of sarmens (vine cuttings) that last us for all the grillades right through the summer. That's what everybody here does. Gas? [8-)]
Gemonimo
If you can't use a barbecue, Simon, how about a plancha? Not quite the same I know, but you can use it all year round.
