mint
Can someone please recommend a product to use on exterior timber, svp?We have a lot of wood railings for your veranda and some of the original lasure is peeling.I have been to a local decorating shop and picked up a chart for Sikkens products, gamme Cetol.Looking at the info, I am not sure which of their products would correspond to a simple stain without all the "résines acryliques et alkydes" etc.I am looking for something akin to Cuprinol, just a simple stain that might fade but would not peel off in bits so that redecorating would mean hours of removing flaking paint and sanding down surfaces.Name of some products and where to buy them would be really helpful[:D]
mint
No need for reply after all; found Cuprinol for sale on Amazon French site.
Théière
Gonna reply anyway [:)]Sikkens is good quality finish, HLS is a low build, hence less likely to peel. As is Sadolin they contain the things you mentioned as they protect the timber from the very harmful effects of the sun's UV.Quality [:)]
mint
Thank you, Teapot. I'm glad you have mentioned Sadolin because the previous owner rubbed down all the shutters and treated them with Sadolin and they look magnificent. All I need to do is wash them down, maybe once a year because I ain't no housewife..........[:$]
