1. It doesnt say brits only, it says that it is not just aimed at british 'inactifs' but 'inactifs' from all eu countries. I presume they have included this because of the level of communication they have had from the british community in particular. cheminot
2. Having read this link this is what understand it to say: Those who are 'inactive' and are at present affiliated to the CMU will have six months 'grace' to find alternative healthcare provision. I assume this means six months from 30th september 2007 but it does not actually state this. Holders of e106/121 will have thier cover withdrawn immediately upon the expiry of the said 'e' form. I dont know where this leaves people whose 'e' forms run out this coming january. Does anyone concur with my interpretation? cheminot
3. I went canoeing on a sidestream of the Charente at Bourg Charente last thursday. I got within 15 metres of an otter before it swam to the bank and disappeared. It didn't seem peturbed by my presence. I think its fair to say that I was the one most suprised by the encounter! cheminot
4. I have read enough to convince me that FT aren't so bad after all. I think I'll stay where I am for now! cheminot
5. I am approaching the end of the 12 month lock-in with France telecom. I have no complaints about the service I have had, just the price of it! There are many internet/phone deals advertised, all seem to be around €30 a month. I would be grateful for any recommendations or otherwise on these packages. My thanks in anticipation, cheminot
6. Started again this morning. To cut what could be a long story short, by much careful aligning and more experience with the satfinder meter I have got a good signal. My thanks to you all for information about the other satellites, from this I was able to separate the signals I was getting and eventually lock onto the right one. cheminot
7. Apologies for inaccuracy in my last post. I was being lazy when I said The dish was pointed 28e without checking first. The settings I have used are 143 degrees, 31 degree elevation and 17 degree clockwise tilt on the lnb. I found these figures by 'googling'. As I said before the coordinates the dish is in now correspond very closely to the previous marks. I have just moved the dish vertically by less than a metre and before I moved it I was getting a signal. I'll try setting it up again from scratch tomorrow. cheminot
8. Thanks for your replies. I am pretty confident that I am pointing at the right satellite because when I first installed the dish I marked the direction and elevation on the support brackets with indelible marker and as all I have done is moved the dish vertically then those marks gave me a good starting point. I have double checked it with a compass and it is as near as possible to tell, on 28e. cheminot
9. I have a 'package deal' with FT which costs me 39€ a month. For this I get all domestic and most destinations worldwide included, this includes 0870 & 0845 numbers to the UK cheminot.
10. I have a panasonic digibox connected to an 80cm dish. When I first set it up about 8 months ago it recieved most of the free channels OK with a signal strength of about 80% and signal quality of about 40%. For the last 2 months the reception has been getting worse until I could get virtually nothing at all. I tried adjusting the dish and resetting the digibox but to no effect, in fact I lost the signal completely! I guessed it might be because of surrounding trees coming into leaf so I moved the dish to a clearer position and with the aid of sat finder meter set it up again. The meter shows a signal strength of around 90% both at the lnb and the digibox ends. but I still get nothing, not even network ID or transport stream readings. I have reset the digibox, removed and replaced the card etc to no avail. Any suggestions please? cheminot.
11. My doctor insists that I see him every month for my prescriptions. This has been OK up till now but he was on holiday last week so I have been unable to get an appointment until next week and have no medication left. I will have to remember to ask him what his holiday plans are every time I visit him in future! cheminot
12. There is a "Troc Moto" being held at Juillac le Coq near Cognac (16) on the 29th April where all sorts of things 'bike' are bought sold and exchanged. That one is probably too far away for you but it may be worth looking for a similar event in your area. cheminot
13. Money arrived in my account today! cheminot.
14. I've looked in Auchan and Intermarche with no luck but have yet to try leclerc so there is hope yet! cheminot
15. I am very fond of mango chutney but so far have not found it in any store. Does anyone know if it is possible to get it in France? cheminot
16. I think the cost of bike insurance will make your eyes water here. It cost me 450euros to insure my T'bird here. I wont say I couldn't have got it cheaper but I did shop around and there wasnt much difference in the price like-for-like. (It includes european recovery, accessories and clothing). I am 57 with 7yrs ncb.My renewal quote from ebike in the UK was £94.50! cheminot
17. I was issued with my 'carte vitale' about a month ago. While waiting for it I had accumulated several refund forms for doctors appointments, prescriptions etc. I duly filled in the forms and attached the various receipts to them. To ensure I had completed them correctly I went to the local CPAM office and asked them to check them before I submitted them. They did so and accepted them for processing. This was all done about 3 weeks ago but I have yet to receive any refund. Does anyone know how long I have to wait for reimbursment? I have been told that it normally takes about 5 working days, if this is so has anyone any suggestions on the best way to pursue this? My thanks in anticipation. cheminot
18.
I just had a look at one of the o/p's posts in another thread and it seems fine. Did you figure out the problem, cheminot?
This reply should find out for me. I use Opera as my web browser. cheminot
19. How do I post a 'quote' without getting the sackload of computerspeak all around it? cheminot
20. This form E107, is it a form only issued in France? I have tried the DWP website and can find no reference to it. cheminot
21. I have just registered my Triumph Thunderbird in France. Originally I wrote to Eric Pecoraro and got no reply, I then wrote to the same address but just heading it 'Service Homologation' and got a reply within a week. I bought a new headlight glass, sent a copy of the V5 and the reciept for the headlight back to them and recieved the 'Attestation' free of charge by return of post. I had some entertaining moments at the Prefecture trying to persuade them that it was a motorbike and as a result did not need a Controle Technique but I am happy to report that having obtained my insurance today I am 'ready to roule'! cheminot
22. I've just registered my Triumph Thunderbird in France. The broker I use for my car has quoted me 450 euros for insurance which I think is a bit too much. Any suggestions for alternative quotes would be most welcome. cheminot
23. I have tried the method you have described to update my profile. It refuses to let me change my email address back to the old one in the same way that it declined to change profile in the first instance. Any suggestions? (provided they are physically possible and pain free) cheminot
24. I also have a couple of spare tree trunks, one sycamore and one Indian Bean tree. Does this make it possible Chris? regards, cheminot.
25. What I envisage is something that is instantly recognisable for what it is. ie. an Owl should look close to what a real owl looks like when perched on a stump, the same for a buzzard but allowing for the materials used and the artistry involved. I am not looking for an abstract interpretation. I have googled, searched ebay worldwide, looked at no end of websites but have found nothing resembling an owl or a raptor. Chris As regards the sizes of the stumps, one is about 120cm high the other 50cm. If you are wondering whether it would be possible to carve the figure out of the stump itself then I would have to say no, it would have to be mounted on them. cheminot
