Treating moss on roof

Hello

We need to treat the moss on a north facing roof. Our neighbours have told us that it shouldn't be done now but in the autumn when it is cooler.

Can anyone tell me when is the best time to do it please.

As always, thanks in advance for any help

How are you thinking of treating the moss?

Pressure washing is not a good idea as it can remove the tile surface or crack and break clay tiles (as can walking on them!)

Scraping it off or brushing it off are better.

If you use a chemical treatment make sure it cannot run off into a stream as it could kill fishes.

Fitting copper strips or wire at the ridges will prevent moss reappearing.
