Hi,

I am looking for a barn for renovation with future habitable space of around 200 m2 which can be over 2 floors. It needs to have land of around 1000 m2 and be within 10 kms of postcode 17770 and for around 50,000 euros! Thanks.

Have you tried looking on www.seloger.com you just put in the postcode number and type of property you are looking for, very easy.

Or you could try  www.pagesjaunes.fr 

Type in 'immobilier' in the Quoi,Qui box, 17770 in the Où box, click Trouver, then click 'selectionner toutes les localités' top right of the list of place names box that comes up, wait a few seconds and a list of estate agents is shown, some with web sites.

Having looked in a few estate agents windows this week 50k will only buy you a complete wreck. Is this the sort of thing you're looking for?

Just be aware that it is becoming more difficult to get permission to convert stand alone barns, rather than extending into barns attached to a house.

Yes any land in dept 17 is expensive! Good luck with your search!
