Best Time To Move To France

Could anybody tell me if there is an advantageous time to move to France regarding the tax position, and if it affects when you decide to move over, regarding the payment of long term incapacity benefit from the UK.

As always many thanks for any information provided.

Long term incapacity benefit simply transfers with you but you should check your indiviual circumstances with Newcastle.

The French tax authorities do not apportion your house's "parts" according to when in the tax year (Jan to Dec) you become tax resident in France so you get a full allowance in the first year.

I can't remember if the UK authorities do apportion but if they do then I suppose April 6th would be as good a time as any.
