So what about those like us who due to earlier testing positive with no symptoms were told we only needed one shot, they then changed their minds and in August said we needed two. So as our second shots were in August the booster can't be given till after six months. I think he's making it up as he goes along the campaign trail.

Norman I read this information on line It's apparently from "The Connexion": Let's hope for once they have got it right. ?

  • A booster Covid vaccine dose will be obligatory for all over-65s for their pass sanitaire (health pass) to continue to be valid from December 15. After this date, over-65s who received their second dose more than six months and five weeks before will have to have had a booster to avoid their health pass being deactivated. However, if by December 15 six months have not passed since your second dose, you will still be able to use your pass as normal, as long as you go for your booster when required.

I bow to your understanding of the french language. To me his comment in French didn't make sense, I didn't translate it the way the "Connexion" did, still as they are often wrong, who knows?  ?

This means to me that the loss of the pass  concerns people who had the second injection six months ago and so can now have the booster, (but haven't had it).

Those such as Nick who haven't yet reached six months since the second dose are not yet affected.  I reckon that is clear and fair.

The Corection  goes a bit further in saying 'as long as they have it etc' which is what is implied, but I haven't seen a French source that says that so explicitly

By the way in the quotation from Attal there was a  a good example of a 'faux ami' ( a word that looks very similar in English and French but with very different meanings in the two languages: ""qui peuvent donc prétendre à une dose de rappel."     here "prétendre" means are "eligible for" and so the phrase can be translated as "so who are eligible for a booster dose"
