The following at least will be on sale plus some classics and VCRs once we check them against the DVD index. The worst thing about indexing my CD collection was the realisation that Steeleye Span sat next to Steely Dan and that my late mother knew the derivation of both names despite not being a member of the EFDS

Anton, are they all on vinyl or CD?

I've just given my record rather than CD player to a mate but I'd buy another one to play some of those ...............

Talk about having the same taste in music, at some time I think I've owned all of those ..............

Ps Derek Bell's record is Carolan's Favourites, I just thought he was the mutts nuts, somebody on a record label (Gael Linn Records I think) once described him as the nutter on the bus who you dreaded would sit next to you.  For the uninitiated, he was the harpist in The Chieftains who died a few years ago.

I think I've still got Mise Eire on vinyl lurking somewhere and have it on CD also, Bert Jansch, remember seeing him and Pentangle so many times in the UK, Danny Thompson on bass, wonderful.

Thanks for a great start to the morning ................

B South - is this the cd with the REAL words to "Don't marry her **** me"

Ry Cooder, wot, No Capt Beefheart ?

The above all all Cds and were accumulated accros three continents, four houses and five cars. These are the extra ones. Safe as Milk remains one of my favourite albums and "The Rising Sons" my best super group. I sent my mum out to buy "Rum Sodomy and the Lash" and "Derek Bell Plays With Himself" when she was 80 odd. According to her the exchange at Virgin Kingston passed in to their training videos.

"Fleetwood Mac when it was a real band, pre-girlys except the occasional guest spot from C Perfect"

Apologies for diverting from the point of the original posting, but you

might enjoy looking at the current recordings from Stan Webb’s Chicken

Shack - from early days on Blue Horizon with Christine Perfect, Stan

has moved on through nearly 40 years to become probably the best player

of traditional English blues guitar. Streets ahead of Clapton.

CD recommendations:

"Still Live After All These Years"

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00068JFIY/qid=1143750926/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_11_1/202-9631373-7139038

"Going Up - Coming Down" - Disc 1 - Tracks 8, 9 & 15

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0001WPSHM/qid=1143750926/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_11_1/202-9631373-7139038

Probably the best bargain is the "I’d Rather go Live" DVD with lots of

additional material and interviews (interesting comments on Christine

Perfect and Clapton). Available from:

http://www.angelair.force9.co.uk/njpdvd620a.htm

Lots of other interesting stuff on this site as well.

Finally, Stan’s own site. Not the best laid out but lots of good information on tour dates, etc.

Our 12 year old son is learning acoustic and electric guitar - he has

Stan Webb on his MP3 player - has to be better than James Blunt!

Good listening,

Bob Clarke

>>Apologies for diverting from the point of the original posting,.

On vinyl I still have FM with a very young someone (P Green I think) apparently naked except for a surf board on the cover. Amongst the CDs are 2 by of Splinter Group (witnessed live at The Waterfront in Norwich with my nose pressed against the chain link fence just 6 feet from a giant speaker and PG - deaf for days) and Blues for Greeny by G Moore.

Also on vinyl is "Prophets, Seers and Sages" by Tyrannosaurus Rex - I tried to find a CD version but when I checked the catalogue this band had been deleted.

Hopefully when our conversion is finished and boxes are all unpacked I will move everything from vinyl onto a more modern medium and perhaps try to raise a bit for charity myself.

Having managed to hijack your thread I am now even sorrier that we cannot attend the sale. Anton, perhaps if some of yr stuff does not sell we can do a deal by post after the event, though still supporting the good cause of course.

p.s. I vaguely remember some awards show years ago where some bright spark paired the giant M Fleetwood with the pneumatic midget Sam Fox, how the mighty are fallen.
