Evianers
How we wish that more people in the Geneva/Haute Savoie/Lac Leman would post in this section. There must be dozens of us out there with whom to share experiences. It would be really good to have some additional input from those living in the 74, 73, 38 etc. Departements. Look forward to hearing from you.
Lori
Same goes for the areas a bit further south. I live in the Vaucluse (dept. 84). I have found the Southeast section of the forum gets practically no activity.
JohnM
10 days and I will be there again. Sadly, only a week this time. Not getting over as often as I did last year when I had a few jobs at the Royal Evian which allowed me to visit La Chambre on expenses!
glacier1
It's the same here, I'm in the Drome (26) and there's no posts here.....my girlfriend comes from Annecy, I know your area well, beautiful, only 1hr30mn away from my house :)
JohnM
I love Annecy. I wish I was there for the Fete du lac this year but I don't arrive in time (and sadly I leave before the Talloires concerts as well - I've timed it badly)
glacier1
Oh yes, my girlfriend did talk about it, but alas we're both working so we can't take time off, she said it's manifique! Problem is that most hotels are full and very expensive.
Mpprh
Could the problem be that "South East" is not well understood ?Languedoc must be South. It extends as far West as the Spanish border. Yet it is included here as South East.Better to use the Regional names ?So, should it be :ParisAlsaceAquitaineAuvergneBasse-NormandieBourgogneBretagneCentreChampagne-ArdenneCorseFranche-ComtéHaute-NormandieIle-de-FranceLanguedoc-RoussillonLimousinLorraineMidi-PyrénéesNord-Pas-de-CalaisPays de la LoirePicardiePoitou-CharentesProvence-Alpes-Côte-d'AzurRhône-Alpes Peter
glacier1
Yes I think you are right, I find that it's too broad a section to be covered by just "south east" we should do as you say there, it would work easier for people to identify with their area
woolybanana
I would prefer Vendée to be used instead of just Pays de la Loire.
JohnM
There is an Ibis in Annecy, but of course, you really ought to be taking her to Talloires, staying in the Hotel L'Abbay, after wining and dining her at the Restaurant Pere Bise..... followed by a lifetime of soup kitchens and begging..... Tres Cher (well by my standards, but then even Flunch is stretching my current budget!)
glacier1
hahahaha, my girlfriend works in Flunch, so maybe she can get you a discount [:P] I'm staying put earning euro's, not going to big hotels/resto's, not interested in that, I'd rather count my money every evening and have a swim in bank notes [;-)]

Would love to stay at l'Abbaye- we walked into the lobby and had a look around - so beautiful.
Sprogster
The 'other' forum gets very few posts under the South East Section as well and the simple reason I think is that there are fewer members living there. Probably, because outside Paris this is the most expensive part of France to live in and not the place you want to be on a budget.
