Very quick question, I am coming over in the next couple of weeks, and wondered how much fuel was in France today, should I fill up in Portsmouth or Caen. Cheers.
At the moment I think it depends on whether you want petrol or diesel. If it's petrol, not much in it. If it's diesel - definitely Caen.

Scary, wot?

I am in the UK at the moment and there is a garage just down the road which sells proper old fashioned 4-star (he is a dealer specialising in rather fine old cars).  It is just under £2 a litre![:-))]
Yes cooperlola, good old 4* and with 400 horses and 8 mpg the old girl dont get out much nowadays, but watch out, hopefully soon be keeping you awake nights down at the LE-MANS Classic's
I heard on R4 this morning that USA has huge amounts of oil, and don't need to be getting oil from other countries at all. That output is minute compared with what it could be if they chose. Is that right? Or is it the wrong sort of oil!  [8-)]
Went to our local intermarche on thursday and diesel was 130.9. Yesterday it was on sale at 134.9. The first saturday of each month usually sees a reduction in fuel prices so I do wonder if the price goes up a week or so before to allow for the reduction.

When I was in the UK last week the pundits were predicting a 10p rise in fuel prices at the end of Feb (which happened) and probably another similar rise at the end of this month and yes, they were blaming it all on the volatile situation in North Africa.

I confess I have not looked at the news nor opened a newspaper (real or virtual) since I got back but I guess things are no different here, nor have they changed much in the last few days.
We filled up at Morrisons yesterday before we headed back to SE UK. The price there was £127.9, and I guess it was cheaper than the  Shell we'd normally put in. And more rises to come!  [:(] Pity we weren't in the Prius!
£127 - [:-))] that's some increase !!
