Can any one advise of suitable places to look for some furniture - beds, dining room table and chairs in 87. We will be back out at the end of May and I feel the need for some french retail therapy!

You can get some good bargains at Emmaus, St Priest Taurion, the choice is vast and changes every week otherwise, there are Brocantes all over the place some cheap and cheerful and other have pretensions and sell at Knightsbridge prices. Your local 'annuaire' (phone directory) will list them as will www. pages-jaunes.fr

Don't know if it's close enough but I know of two brocantes, one in Romorantin and one near St Aignan.

We found the Trocodore at Isle, just outside Limoges on the N21, to be worth a visit - lots of stuff.

By far the largest for the items you are looking for is the Mill at Aixe sur vienne. Turn right at the last set of traffic lights as you leave the town heading south. Take a right at the fork in the road (about 100 metres) and follow the road down the south side of the river for about a kilometre. You can't miss it on the right.
