Me0wp00
they arent that expensive and fine up until about 2 years of age if he's likely to be visiting a fair bit, try the local trocs they often have them second hand, all the hyper markets have them,
Polremy
We bought one in Carrefour when our grand daughter was due to visit - 27 euros. Not really worth getting a second hand one I would have thought. It says suitable up to 48 months too. Cendrillon
If you buy a new cot then at least it will be pristine and the mattress new this is very important if the baby is very small. You could spend a lot of time and money looking for the right size and buying a new mattress for a second-hand cot.
lilly
thank you for all your responses, just thought there might be someone else out there that had bought one for visitors and would be happy to sell/lend me one. I have been to the carrefour and they were 40 euros, they also have the mattresses there for 8 euros to fit in a travel cot which I will buy so as to have a new mattress. My grandson will probably not be over again after this visit until next summer, that was why I thought a second hand one would be better for us. newbiee
I wouldn't recommend borrowing a cot matress for a baby ... using a second hand/old matress is linked with SDS .... just not worth the risk, buy a new one.
