What colour do you see?

Fascinating

On the TV news it was clearly blue and black.

The central image from the newspaper, viewed in similar light conditions is gold and cream - but lower down in other images is blue and black gain. The manipulation of colour balance is therefore quite critical with this object.

What I have always found fascinating is the colour others perceived at a certain wavelength the same named colour I see say for example I am told the sky is Blue but its my brain that dictates colour to the wavelength perhaps for others they perceive another colour it could be to me post box Red but they still call it Blue

I have just conducted a very primitive experiment.

I looked at the dress on my laptop screen (HP dv6) and it was clearly white and gold. I then moved my head downwards so that I was looking up at the screen and the dress became blue and black.

Could the effect be due to the way the pixels are arranged on your screen?
