They couldn't even have thought that one up on April 1st. Priceless.

It could work - I think the sight of governemnt ministers jumping up and down would scare off just about any pice of asbo material.

And there must be a joke about frogs in there somewhere. [:P]

Ford Anglia, I have attached a photo for you which you can use as your avatar if you wish.............

I learned to drive in one, then owned a "B" registered one for two years. It was flat out and screaming at 80mph, and ran on 4 remoulds about as wide as mountain bike tyres.

Thanks for the avatar, but mine was one of those with "fins" and a sloping inwards rear window. <<Runs off to google to find a photo of one>>

<<Then returns to ask how to add it as an avatar[:$]>>

The last photo I put onto another site was so HYOOOGE the page went weird and no-one could see it. Funny, it looked OK on Google.[:(]

[quote user="Dick Smith"]I used to have one of those, red and cream. Lovely car, but I wrecked it...

Accident? Mine was sold to finance my next beast, which I only had 8 months before swapping it for an Escort 1100 Deluxe. I wouldn't have wanted to see the base model if mine was "deluxe": no carpets, horrid plastic seats, no radio, speedo and fuel gauge only, etc.....[:(]

Cheap to insure, though.

Mine was quite a nice one. I had two horrific moments - one when the lace on the steering wheel glove came loose and wrapped itself round an indicator stalk whilst I was going round a corner - nice! And one when I misjudged driving into a driveway and clobbered a very solid stone pillar. I had no money for repairs to the wing (the headlamp was now turned 90 degrees to the left and up a bit) and in the end got rid of the car. But I loved it. Cheap to insure and run - after all the engine and box were 30-year old designs, I believe.
