Me too..............but say it quietly. It doesn't do to criticise Labour on here[:P] You'll be labelled "Tory" or "Daily Mail reader" as sure as eggs is eggs.[;-)] Won't matter if, like me, you've never voted Conservative in your life............

Quite honestly F.A., I would be surprised if life-long Labour voters are too enthralled with the thought of Brown being our next Prime Minister. And when it happens like this, surely it is time the system was overhauled?

And I will not allow the Daily Mail in my house.....

Point1: agreed, some friends of mine have been members for as long as I've known them, but have recently declined to renew............

Point2: why ever not? It's as good for lighting fires as the next rag. And can be cut into smaller[:D] squares, and hung at your convenience

It's his Wife I'm glad to get rid of. Loud/ Wide mouthed sponger that's as much use as a Bag of Rubbish collected every fortnight.

Hate to imagine what she is like as a Judge. Heaven help anyone (usually the Government at the moment) that comes before her.

Greeny to the core.

I started to buy the Daily Mail because it had a good quiz and problem page, but my daughters said I should hide it inside a porn magazine in case anyone recognised me.  Here in France, though, the other newspapers tend to come shorn of all their supplements and are very expensive.  However, my daughters have prevailed and I am now newspaperless in France. Still, I do have Sky TV so I get all the UK news in detail anyway.

Of course the wife of the PM had to be approved by the Lord Chancellor! to become a QC

The same LC who was once Head of Chambers! and who loves wallpaper plus it is alleged some other stimulants.

Of course if one wishes to become a QC the waiting time is normally 19 years unless of course one becomes a MP or is associated with someone who is an MP or better still likely to become PM. Fact if you are involved with the Houses of Parliament in a professional capacity it cuts down the time before one can make application for silk.  Check the records.

A box of goodies or a good bottle to the one who answers the following question.

Which Secretary of State for the Home Office suffered from the most ex partie applications for Judicial Review and was akin to hanging Judge Jefferies.

A starter for ten he is the current MP for a seat fairly near the Channel.
