I don't know about all the people who missed their vote, but some stood for between 1 hour and 90 minutes, and were then turned away at 10pm. So if some of these people started to queue at 8.30pm or before, I don't think they can be accused of being disorganised etc. Thinking back, over a period of a couple of years my OH used to leave home before 7 in the morning, arriving home maybe at 8pm. If others are in that position, they might prefer to have a quick wash and snack before exercising their vote. I don't think they can be blamed for losing their votes in the manner we've heard about and I 'm concerned thay if nothing changes, many will be put off voting in future.

GG. both my daughter and her husband get back late and have 2 young children that need feeding and putting to bed. + a cuddle and story reading. Husband went to vote first, daughter went as soon as he got back, in what she thought was plenty of time.

Peter G - I wonder why you seem to think that anyone would guess at last nights situation - on most other elections you could probably hold a dance in the election hall after 8.30 pm [:)]

People simply followed their usual routine - unless you are actually a meercat there was nothing 'simples ' about it. [;-)]
