JC goes, Rejoice!

Sadly I have found the current labour party truly awful. Our MP pre the new Boris government was absolutely terrible and they were voted out, so many of us were so fed up with 'them'.

I can find nothing that I find helpful or truly postive in anything that has been said recently by Labour, and Blair, well, I wish he would shut up.

And I live in a Labour area AND I am basically a socialist, with as I get older, some extreme views which get even more extreme as each year goes by. ie I would now bring back corporal punishment for some crimes.

BinB - how on earth can you type that comment ?   The OP is in NO way any of those offensive, disgusting, terms you have used.   In fact before you start finger pointing, remember there's fingers pointing back at you.  JC was a disgrace;  read Starmer's comments about having to 'root out' the hatred buried deep within labour towards the Jews.   Anyone, in their right mind, will have despised corbean for his wishy washy, cuddling up to terorists, hatred of the uk attitude.   The voters saw through him.   The man destroyed any remnants of support from decent people.   He led the so-called labour party to its worst defeat for generations.    You think the OP is the only person to feel the corbean was an absolute and utter disgrace, shamed the labour party, and let down the traditional labour voters.

And you have the brass cheek to come on here and find such honest, forth-right language offensive

Really ?

Truly ?

You honestly believe what you've written ?

You should be ashamed....

On the BBC News there is a 2 minute video of JCs achievements. I have not watched because it must be very padded out.

Which ever party you support it needs a strong party in opposition.

The extreme left must be very proud of their party getting the fewest seats since 1935.

I have just watched Starmer give a lengthy interview on Andrew Marr.

As far as I could make out, he answered all the questions, even the difficult ones and, in that at least, he is unlike most other politicians!

Also he seems sensible and balanced in his views, so also pretty unusual in this respect.

Let's give the man time to prove himself.  After all, even the bread makers on the bread thread talks about giving it time to prove!  Er.....is that the same sort of proof and have I spelt (yes GG an irresistible pun!) it correctly?[:)][:P]
Have I missed something here ?
Most certainly.
Wouldn't a Labour MP and leader be - by definition -a left winger ?
You would think so.
They would hardly be right wing would they ?
Cast your mind back to 1997 - 2007.
In case you have forgotten. The UK, three times, elect a slightly left of centre Labour Prime Minister.
Remind me of the last time the UK elected a left-wing Prime Minister.

Sorry chessie, but could you give me some clarification here please. Was this honest, forthright language posted by the same person that posted the deplorable wish that  Jeremy Corbyn would catch a potentially deadly virus, because he does not like his politics?

It would be really nice to know that we are both talking about the same person.

With the condition of Johnson worsening overnight, and if you have any decency, I sincerely hope that you will withdraw the comment that you posted wishing Corbyn to contract the same potentially deadly disease. The virus has no parameters and its only aim is to wipe out its victim.

Please keep the obsession you appear to have with Corbyn to political arguments.

Grecian - here to clarify my OP - it was in response to BinB's very rude comments to WB.   WB's inoffensive post about JC who was then accused of 'being nasty'.   So I stuck up for WB and replied to BinB in robust terms.

No confusion - not in my mind anyway !!
Your passion for JC knows no bounds, Grecian. I did not wish his death or that he should catch this awful virus. I suggest you put your reading glasses on and read my words again.

And, no, I won't be withdrawing anything.
+1

Far too many people scan over posts and reach the wrong conclusion.

I suggest reading posts properly, and using the "Preview" button to read your own post to decide if you really want to post your comments before posting them.

GRECIAN, there you are!  I have been wondering about you, how you are, how you are coping with life in this time of Covid 19 and how Mrs G is also.

I pleaded with you to come out of hiding and defend me on one of my threads, lol!

Like you, I don't loathe Corbyn, just thought he was ineffectual and no good whatsoever as leader of anything.

But this Starmer is a smart guy, looks the part and says the right things.  So I do hope he says stuff from his heart and means them.

He is new to the job, so I suggest we wait to see a bit more before making judgement; that's fair.
