woolybananasbrother
My sincere condolences. What a terrible thing to have happen.http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1023427/British-couple-crushed-car-south-France.htmlA salutory lesson: always leave it in gear. Suze01
Tragic. And to be witnessed by the daughter too.Second salutory lesson: never try to stop a car by getting in it's path. I can't believe anyone would be stupid enough to think they could possibly stop it.
MrCanary
Awful...And sad that the printed story brought out comments from 'highly intelligent' people who are so wise in hindsight. There is a time to keep quiet about these things!
Suze01
Who said anything about being 'highly intelligent'? It's common sense not to stand in the path of a moving car..
lilly
sometimes people just react to a situation without thinking, we probably all have done something in the past and thought why did we do that! we hopefully live and learn, this poor couple can't do that, how sad for them and their family. But if it makes us stop and think then we have learned something from it....
mint
You are right, lilly; it's impossible to know what you'd do in an unexpected situation. You hope you wouldn't do anything so obviously crazy but the point is, if you've not been tested, you really don't know. Perhaps these people acted "instinctively"? MrCanary
Lisleoise - I was referring to the comment from the chap at the foot of the article in the Mail..."I cannot believe people have put themselves between a car and a brick wall rather than let it happen then claim on the insurance.Insanity."
