pachapapa
Dont know if it is just my computer but when I try to log into TFF it seems that the site is now devoted to selling holidays. Is it just my computer which gives this change in service?Or does it happen to others.http://www.thefranceforum.net/I tried using a proxy address but it still gives the same Holidays page.[8-)]

pachapapa
PPP check your E-Mails
Nothing there relevant but both spam filters are on automatic delete. The site was playing me up last night when I tried to post a reasoned explanation as to why jokes taking the name of a monotheistic deity in vain whilst referring to virgins etcwould be offensive. All of a sudden, the post suddenly disappeared and I was logged out; I was mildly put out.[:)]
cooperlola
Like Will, I can't say this bothers me a lot - haven't visited it in months. However, I had a quick look and the same thing happens for me. This also happened on another forum which I use a few months ago, when they had inadvertantly forgotten to renew their rights to the forum name and somebody jumped in and grabbed it. Looks like this is what may have happened here.

Will
Don't worry, there's plenty of bigotry, small-mindedness and offensiveness here as well. It seems to be a necessary part of online discussion.
BIG MAC
If an organisation doesn't pay their web host then they sometimes put ads on the site to cover subscription costs. I am a member of another forum where non members see ads and members don't
Suze01
FYI the problem occurred because in the original 'contract' auto-renewal wasn't ticked and there was no warning that the domain would be cut at the end of the first year. That problem has now been resolved.
