Pufffff, who'd wanna live in UK with violence, high taxes, no lunch break, no pension, no house, no life, all those immigrants begging everywhere, whereas, eveything is France is sooooo goood.http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/8015743/British-Isles-worst-place-to-live-in-Europe.html

woolybanana
Just how do the French do it when 60% of workers are apparently on the SMIC.
5-element
And when 73% (or was it 79%?) French people are apparently claiming they want to "changer de vie" as they are unhappy with their lot...(I heard it on TV yesterday, so it must be true...) Christine Animal
Well, Britain looks all right to me. Thank you for the link Wooly, have you seen those absolutely stunning photos of Britain from the air on the same page?http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/picturegalleries/8018761/Britain-from-the-Air-an-exhibition-of-aerial-photographs-in-Bath.html Now I'm going to look at the portraits of the Queen. Will
Don't worry, it's all part of the plan to persuade the remaining Mail and Torygraph readers to go and settle in France and give the rest of us a country free from whingeing poms [;-)]
woolybanana
Full of IMMIGRANTS breeding like rabbits and taking tons of benefits with the White Man fleeing his burden! You and the underclass Will, what a choice!
Clarkkent
You've all missed the point. The survey was conducted by uSwitch, the price comparison website. It is probably getting a payment from the French government for every British resident who switches residence.

idun
Well I was highly amused y when I saw this 'report' yesterday. One of the things mentioned was that the UK had less sunshine than France. Living through another canicule would do for me, so I am so glad that there is less sunshine in the UK than on the other side of the channel. And anyone who thinks that 'less' sunshine diminishes the quality of my life is off their tiny rocker! What a silly silly survey, like so many of them, in fact just about all of them. AnOther
I wish they'd make their minds up about where the worst place to live really is.Sweden scores zero on quality of life index
A lighthearted post I know but if you care to read the article that highly misleading title actually refers to a zero mark given for the cost of living component of a quality of life index which represented a mere 15% of the total. Is the current Telegraph article the next in a series I wonder ?http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/5189273/Britain-one-of-the-worst-places-in-Europe-to-grow-up.htmlSince we're on about it, and from Wills link, I wonder if the Icelanders feel the same as they did in 2007 !http://www.icenews.is/index.php/2007/07/29/iceland-happiest-nation/

But then again perhaps the Brits are too busy mainlining crack and snorting cocaine to bother with anti-depressants.:-)

The house we bought had been used by local druggies - and one was found dead in the downstairs bedroom from a heroin overdose.
