It's for a full blood count; not for me but for OH.He's been complaining of tiredness recently and, the last couple of days, of dizziness. At his age, I thought it was worth investigating.It's the devil's own job getting him to agree to see a doctor. You are not a doctor and cannot know what might be wrong with your husband, nor do you know what tests he might need. So, get thee to a doctor with hubby, tethered to thy wrist if necessary. Chancer Posted October 4, 2012 Share Posted October 4, 2012 I have one each January, its not remboursable unless you have an ordonnance, in my case not having a mutuelle I pay about 30% towards the tests and also (€7 or so) towards the doctors visit. I make sure while I am there he signs the multitude of forms and attestations that all the sports clubs insist on to run, cycle, swim or even walk on a public path [:'(] and very bloomin slow they walk too!You may find that the full bilan isnt as full as you thought, if you have any specific concerns then mention them, one year he added a diabetes urine test and I now also have a full bilan hepatic as I found out that I am probably a carrier of a familiale genetic abnormality. Evianers Posted October 4, 2012 Share Posted October 4, 2012 My OH has had to have 9 blood tests this year [post- and pre-operatively].Each test has been requested by the doctor with a prescription [ordanance]but for various different things. We can both be a bit stubborn about going to the doctors as we are fortunate enough to have enjoyed excellent health, give or take the odd little no-consequence episode. Evianers Posted October 4, 2012 Share Posted October 4, 2012 We are both and always have been fit, healthy, hike regularly in the mountains of Switzerland and France.In January my OH was diagnosed with Gleason Scale 7 prostate cancer. ENORMOUS SHOCK! Thank God because of diligence and frequent [blood] tests and scans it was found in time to be operated, and now 6 months later, the patient is doing really well.I am NOT intimating for one moment that this is what might be wrong : no, simply that doctors and specialists can and do interpret blood tests on a daily basis and know what to look for. If you need any additional information do not hesitate to contact us privately as believe me, we now know our way around blood tests!!Better safe than sorry.
