Is France cutting its own throat?

Recommended Posts

That bloody fool Melenchon, he of the snidy, back stabbing nastiness has just managed to get his looney left cohorts to vote a delightful piece of viciousness through the Senate. A bill which gives an amnesty for crimes (warrenting up to five years prison) of all types committed during industrial disputes, which includes violence, assault and everything else you can imagine. Given the vicious war of criminal damage and intimidation being carried out by strikers at the Peugeot car plant at Aulnay, the sacking of a sous prefecture a couple of years ago by drunken Conti workers, one wonders what the hell this idiot is trying to provoke? He seems to want the striking workers to have the right to do almost anything in the pursuit of whatever goal they might see fit.

One hopes that the lower house will throw it out in May.

They voted AGAINST Sarkozy, not for Hollande, in my view. Since they have been in power, the present bunch have not done a single thing right - it is unbelievable to see such incompetence. And now they are forgiving drunken yobs for any crime committed in an industrial dispute, even if a criminal offence. NUTS.

Its sad to say that very little surprises me in this country.

These thugs already do exactly what they want with impunity, faces uncovered being filmed by TV crews while the gendarmes stand to one side chatting to each other not even looking embarrassed by what they are turning a blind eye to.

That evening the events are shown on all the news programs and you never even hear a denonciation from the current government.

And meanwhile the riots continue at a growing pace in the banlieues, we have had a 24 hour CRS presence at Amiens Nord since last summer. I go there once or twice a week on an evening or Sunday morning, it has always been a no go area for the Police but even the CRS wont show their face during the market on Sunday where anything goes, the pavements are the reserve of kids pulling wheelies on stolen sports bikes which are later set on fire. I have seen a father with his toddler on his lap, a fag in one hand the other on the throttle of the quad bike with which he is pulling wheelies on the pavement.

A car in front of me stopped at a pedestrian crossing (a very rare event) and wound down his window to talk to the 2 youths that had just crossed, I now realise that he must have been remonstrating with them as they pulled a gun on him, one was about 14 the other less than 10.

The American tractor tyres company boss  has already told the unions they are a waste of space and he ran for the hills instead of investing in France ...  He will be waving this news item about and saying "I told you so " even louder today !  Perhaps the French Unionists  have developed a  "World owes us a living gene  " that needs to be bred out of them  ?

It pains me to agree, despite loving the place and it's better points, they really have lost the plot and are more intent than ever on demanding the right to self destruct, if this is what the EU is based on then ( I might have said this before[:$]) they are surely doomed, what happened to the concorde spirit, they certainly are not earning their bread at the moment let alone cake. Is it back to poule au pot?

Well, his mate Valls seems to have forgotten about this new law that the govt is passing, since he wants to prosecute strikers at the Goodyear site:

Unless, of course he is thinking of pursuing the CRS?

Apologies for resurrecting this, but, have I understood this correctly?

http://www.midilibre.fr/2013/04/26/amnistie-sociale-place-eelv-appelle-les-deputes-ps-au-devoir-de-desobeissance,686263.php

1) The Senate have voted FOR Melenchon's proposal to give an amnesty to people who commit crimes during an industrial dispute.

2) Flamby is AGAINST this and has told PS deputés to vote against the proposal.

3) The EELV is FOR the amnesty and is telling PS deputés to disobey Flamby by voting FOR the proposals.

Is that right?
