Newhaven - Dieppe Crossing

Recommended Posts

It doesn't surprise me Tony.

In fact, the only surprise to me is how long it has lasted.

It's twixt and between for most potential customers (obviously not you, given where you live). For most, its a short Tunnel or Dover-Calais, or alternatively a Western Channel route ex Pompey or Plymouth.

Don't know where the 50th Anniversary stuff comes from (perhaps car ferry?)

I travelled that route on several school group trips in the early-60's - passenger only ferries of tiny proportions compared to today's monsters!

Hello Ian - it's true it's a bit of a rubbishy service for private travellers (but handy for me as you say) but I'd always thought the commercial traffic would keep the service going.  Oh well..........

Sue and I will be back in Carpentras the middle two weeks of  June along with goddaughter #9 - perhaps you might be kind enough to liaise with your stable friends to organise some riding for her again - I'll pm you nearer the time.

Meanwhile I was sorry to hear about the deforestation near your house - damned nuisance I'm sure.
