Hi

we are arriving in France on Easter Sunday by air. Given that nothing will be open until Tuesday, do you know if it is ok to take food such as milk, butter salad etc on the plane?

Thanks

Lil

Probably not if it is a budget airline, suggest you ring and ask them beforehand. Better still, why not ask on a forum if there is anyone near to your destination home that could get a few bits in for you remembering that easter monday is also a day off here with hardly any shops open too.

Noticed coming back from outside the EU last week that there are new regs governing what foodstuffs you can and can't take with you - big posters up in the baggage reclaim at Gatwick. Having said that, it governs the import of foodstuffs from outside the EU to to EU, and not within or between EU countries. Maybe have a go at googling your question or check out something like customs & excise?
Surely the big supermarches are open on the Monday after Easter? I didn't think they had bank holidays here?
The Bank Holiday over here is on the Monday only not the Friday and Monday as in the UK.  Two weeks then we have another on the 1st May, one week and Monday 8th May, its all go over here.
