pardon me for asking a silly question.....

the limit for a car to board with the cars are 1.85m

the car im looking at is 1.8610 (according to the spec)

i know that at the uk end theres a wooden arm that swings out to measure.

in the meantime (and eurotunnel are unhelpful) is there any leeway to be had do do i just join the chelsea tractors?

We normally travel with a roof box so join the so called 'chelsea tractors' - did not realise that they are now predominently coaches and vans.

We prefer this - it is single decked so more spacious - normally seem to be off sooner than the cars.

If you are over the height limit then go to the high vehicles line. There will be some leeway but how do you think your fellow travellers will feel about you should you get stuck?

Bear in mind that the quoted height from the vehicle spec applies to a new and unladen car. Passengers and luggage may well drop it a couple of cm down, and if the suspension is a few years old, its probably riding lower than standard anyway. Best to measure it yourself and see.
