julia Posted September 23, 2006 Share Posted September 23, 2006 Didn't SB have one of those, though I must admit that I only saw it hung on her garden fence in a photo.I was once taught to cook rice in a very economical way, get the rice and its water to boiling point cover and turn it off. When you go back to it it about half an hour it will have absorbed all the water and be perfect and with seperate grains , not mushy. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Tony F Dordogne Posted September 24, 2006 Share Posted September 24, 2006 Lots of larger towns now have Chinese supermarkets and they sell ricer steamers though they are traditional not electrical - or buy a Tefal steamer and use the rice steamer which comes with that. It cooks rice to perfection and keeps it warm & perfectly cooked for up to at least an hour after it's "ready time". It comes into its own when you've got friends round for a meal.....no stress just perfect rice.
