Catalpa
You might get more interest if you post on one of the AngloInfo sites - Brittany or Normandy. I'm not a Wilbur Smith or RD fan, otherwise I'd be biting your hand off. [:D]
Gastines
Yes, I did advertise on there but no members seem to read much. One timewaster who made an appointment and as usual, too much trouble to phone and say "Sorry".Regards.
Catalpa
Yep, that is typical of those forums. [:P]A friend of mine is about an hour from St Malo... maybe a bit more. She is a voracious reader and I know never has enough books so I'll point her in the direction of your posting above.

Gastines
All gone, eventually had 4 crates.Perhaps I read too quickly!Just finished !The end of the pier show" The Author obviously watched Hi-de Hi. A good read was "The Shadow of the Wind". Only got 1 English book left to read.Oh dear!!I might add I don't read anything to clever or brain stretching, tried several times with Tinker Tailor and the likes but they are on a different planet to me.Regards. Cendrillon
"The Shadow of the Wind".I read that one once - an excellent book[:)] P.S. if you liked that you might enjoy "Winter in Madrid" by C J Sansom
petra
Join the club Gastines! Give me a Stephen King any day! My husband is reading that Zola feller, he likes it enough. Too much for me. His mum keeps giving me French books, translated of course, to read. I must admit I didn't go much for L'Etranger. I know, I know!! I liked one though, about a priest taking in a very poor blind girl. Oh I wish I could remember the title.
Catalpa
Wasn't me, Petra - it was (as you'll have seen by now) Gastines.I read Shadow of the Wind about a year ago. I loved it. There were a few unlikely coincidences which the plot relied on (as I remember) but a good book with characters I liked.
