Is it a motorbike in the corner of the room?

Of course it's a motorbike - you didn't expect him to walk in to lunch, did you?

Gordon Ramsay used to have a motorbike in his first restaurant.

The picture isn't great, but it's not about photographic ability, it's an attempt to show how harsh life can be when you get it wrong and how painful catchup can be. I spent that particular winter working dawn to dusk, seven days a week, whatever the weather, against all advice...the price wasn't particularly pleasant but the effort paid off.

If I could give it a title it would be..'The loneliness of the long distance runner', but I think that one's taken!

I hope none of you have to go there...., Quercus, my dog, never left my side during those times.

Cassis said :-

"They may be incapable of winning the Tour de France, but they do like their bike races."

We have found that twice this summer. The first was a womens race that came through our village at a million miles an hour and the second we were driving our to a favorite resturant in Homps, by the Canal du Midi and we saw a few damgams on their nice blue motos. These got more and more until we were waved down in the middle of nowhere. The gendarm told us it ees a bike race and we must wait.

That bloke stood with his little flag and his whistle, just in front of our car. We took up about 1/3 of the road, nowhere to pull off, and he waved these lunatics around us. They were head down and going hell for leather may the devil take the hindmost!!! If they hadn't gone around us the copper would have been minced and we would have got the rest. He was either very brave or VERY stupid?

We had to wait almost another 5 minutes after the mad bunch had gone and then a single bike came hurtling past. Then we were alowed to move!! Nearly late for lunch we were [:-))]
